The Gulf Coast is known for hosting many events during the summer, and while some events may have been canceled, there are still a variety of things to do! We have something for everyone, including business expos, air shows and the world’s largest annual fishing rodeo. Here are some of the great local events we are attending this summer!
The Blue Angels are always traveling the United States and putting on performances like no other, but they call Pensacola their “home”. Their Pensacola Beach Air Show is scheduled for July 11th, then they will be on their way to seven other states before returning to Pensacola for shows on October 16-17th. Fans are invited to watch practices in August and September at the National Naval Aviation Museum, and even have the chance to receive autographs following some of the shows! Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo
The Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo is the largest annual fishing tournament in the world! Located on Dauphin Island, the event typically attracts over 3,000 anglers and 75,000 spectators. This year the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo celebrates 87 years and will be held July 16-19th. This 3-day event features 30 categories, each with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize, and the total awards package is valued up to one million dollars in cash and prizes. At the end of the tournament, one master angler is crowned and presented with a grand prize! There is also a random drawing where any angler who purchases a ticket and weighs one fish has the opportunity to win a brand new 2020 Contender Bay. Tickets are now on sale!
Serda Brewing Co. in Mobile, Alabama and the Alabama Coastal Foundation will be hosting this event on Wednesday, July 22nd from 4-9pm. You can learn more about the Alabama Coastal Foundation, purchase merchandise and win a few door prizes! $1 per pint sold will go towards improving and protecting Alabama’s coastal resources through education, resources and participation. They are pre-selling ACF pint glasses for $10 and with every purchase of a glass, the ACF will cover your first beer! *21 and older*
The Eastern Shore Business Expo is Baldwin County’s premier business event showcasing regional companies. This event offers everything business: the chance to connect with small businesses to executives, an opportunity to network with local professionals and discover resources for business growth! The Eastern Shore Business Expo is scheduled to take place on September 17th from 12pm-5pm at the Fairhope Civic Center. Booth registration is now open and starts at $300 but they are filling up fast. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
