As summer slowly winds down, Mobile is not letting up on fun things to do! Many events are coming to the port city this month and you won’t want to miss a thing. So grab your friends and family, and check out these awesome events that are on their way!
South Alabama Jags Football
In Alabama, there is no season like football season! While Alabama and Auburn reign over the state, our own South Alabama Jags play their games right here in Mobile at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. This is an activity that almost everyone will enjoy as the atmosphere makes it so unique and fun. They play almost every Saturday, so come on out, have fun and cheer on our Jags as they play.
The Black Jacket Symphony
The Black Jacket Symphony is a wonderful experience for any music lover. Do you remember being able to put an album on and listen to it from start to finish? Well then, this event is for you! The Black Jacket Symphony chooses a select classic album and performs it in its entirety. This month they will be playing The Eagles’ Hotel California and some of their other greatest hits! Past performances have included Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Prince’s Purple Rain. It is an amazing show that you will definitely enjoy!
Jubilee Festival
Every year, the city of Daphne hosts the Jubilee Festival of the Arts. During this festival, artists and vendors line the streets of downtown Daphne to showcase their amazing works and products. They each also participate in a contest hoping to win the grand prize. These artists and vendors work very hard on each and every piece, so come support them and their work!
PAW Patrol Live!
Parents, if you have a younger kid, or have friends with younger children, you will definitely know what Paw Patrol is, and 9 out of 10 kids LOVE Paw Patrol! Kids love everything about this fun TV show, and now they can interact with their favorite characters. The kids also get to experience a special live action episode right in front of them and can help Paw Patrol to solve the case! The Paw Patrol need their help to solve a pirate problem they are having, so won’t you let them help?
OKTOBERFEST “BEER MILE MINI”
It’s time for Serda’s annual Oktoberfest, everyone! If you participate in this track event, you receive 32 ounces of beer that will be used while you run four laps that will add up to ¾ of a mile. It is a day full of fun and great drinks, but you must be 21 to participate! If you want to participate you can register online now or sign up the day of. It is always a great time, so go down to Serda’s and see if you can win the race and get a prize!
Theatre Shows
Around Mobile there are several different theatre companies putting on plays all year long. During the month of September, the Joe Jefferson Playhouse will be presenting Matilda: The Musical and the PACT Theatre Company will be presenting Frozen JR: The Musical. Both theatre companies are a delight to see, and usually have full audiences. You don’t want to miss these wonderful shows so book tickets now. So as summer keeps coming to an end that does not mean the events around Mobile do! Many of these events come around annually, and special events will never stop taking place. Mobile strives to do more for those that live here and want to make sure Mobilains remain happy throughout the year.
