Fourth of July fun is never in short supply in Lower Alabama. Every year, Mobile and the Eastern Shore plan a line up of exciting entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Here is a list of the area’s Independence Day events and activities you do not want to miss!
GulfQuest 4th of July Celebration
Party like it’s 1776 at the GulfQuest National Maritime Museum’s 4th of July Celebration. The festivities start at 2:00 pm on the Riverfront Promenade with plenty of options for kids and adults. For $5.00 kids can take a few turns down the massive inflatable Tropical Water Slide (don’t forget a towel and sunscreen). There will be cornhole games and a sidewalk chalk competition. GulfQuest’s in-house restaurant, The Galley, will be serving up delicious food such as hamburgers and hot dogs. Guests can enjoy the fireworks show at 9:00 pm with music by the Mobile Symphonic Pops Band.
City of Mobile Independence Celebration
Celebrate America’s birthday in one of this nation’s oldest cities. The City of Mobile will host a memorable evening for everyone at Cooper Riverside Park. Guests can join in on the fun at GulfQuest’s 4th of July Celebration or visit Mardi Gras Park for a picnic and outdoor fun. A concert featuring the Mobile Symphonic Pops Band will start at 7:00 pm and will feature many familiar patriotic songs. At 9:00 pm there will be a spectacular fireworks show over the Mobile River.
Daphne’s Fourth of July Celebration
Jump across the bay to Daphne for the city’s annual Fourth of July Celebration. This year’s event will be held at the Al Trione Sports Complex on Whispering Pines Road from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm. There will be water slides and inflatables for the kids, games and best of all, free concessions! The fireworks will start at dusk.
4th of July Celebration at OWA
Downtown OWA in Foley will host a fun-filled day on the Fourth of July. Walk the streets of the admission-free city center that is filled with shops and eateries. There will be live performances and a GLOWA dance party at night. A fireworks show over Lake OWA starts at 8:45 pm.
The City of Gulf Shores Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration
What would be a better place to watch spectacular fireworks than the beach? Head to the Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores for the city’s annual fireworks show. Parking is free at Gulf State Park Lake Shelby. There will be plenty of food trucks and firework viewing opportunities. Spectators may also walk across the pedestrian bridge for a closer view. The fireworks display will begin at 9:00 pm.
Fairhope’s Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Display
Bring a lawn chair, a blanket and of course, snacks to the city of Fairhope’s annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Fairhope Municipal Pier. Beginning at 7:00 pm, the Baldwin Pops will perform a series of patriotic tunes on the lawn of Henry George Park. The firework show will start at 9:00 pm.
