Upcoming Fall Activities You Don’t Want to Miss

Fall in the South is basically summer but with pumpkins. The temperatures have cooled to a nice 80 degrees meaning you can still wear your flip-flops while you drink a pumpkin-flavored latte. There are also many activities around town to jumpstart you into fall fever mode.
Forty South Farm and Zoo Pumpkin Patch Festival
Forty South Farm and Zoo in Robertsdale hosts their Pumpkin Patch Festival each weekend in October starting on the 13th. Events include a petting zoo, farm bowling and a pumpkin patch.
Christ United Methodist Church 3rd Annual Food Truck
Food Trucks and fellowship come together as Christ United Methodist Church celebrates the opening of their pumpkin patch on September 30. There will be games and entertainment during the afternoon event.
Jubilee Festival of Arts
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the festival held in Old Towne Daphne. Revelers can enjoy music, vendors, art and delicious food during this event held the last weekend in September. Art stations will be set up for kids in picturesque Centennial Park.
Dauphin Way United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch
Pick from many sizes and shapes of pumpkins at Dauphin Way Methodist Church’s pumpkin patch. The patch opens on October 12 and will run through October 31.
Tanner Williams United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch
Tanner Williams United Methodist Church will host its annual pumpkin patch beginning September 27. Stop by for an assortment of pumpkins, gourds and fall family fun.
Little Sisters of the Poor Lawn Party
What better way to kick off the fall season than with a great cause? The Little Sisters of the Poor will hold their annual lawn party on October 21. The sisters host this free event in order to raise funds for various programs for their elderly residents.
Elberta German Sausage Festival
Get your German food fix at the German Sausage Festival in Elberta on October 27. Over 6,000 pounds of sausage is sold at the biannual event hosted by Elberta’s Volunteer Fire Department.
Magnolia Corn Maze
Venture through the corn mazes at the Magnolia Corn Maze in Summerdale. Fun activities include two challenging corn mazes, petting zoo, pig race and pony rides. Opening season is September 29 and will run through November 3. Weekends only.
Pumpkin Patch Express and Scary Night Train
Wales West RV Resort and Light Railway in Silverhill has something for the little and big kids. Jump aboard the authentic steam train to a pumpkin patch filled with kid-friendly activities. The Scary Night Train takes visitors on a frightening filled ride. Both events begin September 28 and run through until October 31.
Alabama Pecan Festival
Whether you call it “P-Can” or “P-Cawn” you’ll find plenty of them at the Alabama Pecan Festival. Held the first weekend of November every year, this family-friendly event has all the makings of a downhome good time.
There are many pros to our mild fall weather down here in Alabama. You can get out and enjoy fall festivals without bundling up but don’t forget the sunscreen.
