HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS IN MOBILE

Halloween is a fall festivus; a holiday that allows everyone from old to young to dress up, eat candy and have fun—and Mobile, Alabama knows how to party. This season there are countless activities for you and your family to around the Mobile Bay area. Look through these Halloween happenings in Mobile from Mobile Bay Local to find the perfect outing to help celebrate both the spooky and the exciting.

 

  1. Wales West Pumpkin Patch Express

From September 29-October 31 this farmland in Silverhill is transformed into a Halloween fun zone. Tickets are $15 per person (2 and under are free). Ride the train and take your group to the pumpkin patch for a free souvenir. Take part in their pumpkin decorating on site while enjoying refreshments. The kids will enjoy the bounce house, petting zoo and pony rides while the adults can relax in the on-site café and gift shop. The train ride is suitable for children during the day…but once the sun sets the ride becomes a thriller experience, giving adults the scare they’re looking for at Halloween.

 

  1. Thriller Night of Lights

Hank Aaron Stadium is back with their beloved Thriller Night of Lights from September 30-October 31. Tickets are $6 per person (3 and under are free) and the park is open from 7 – 10pm every night, rain or shine. Drive your car through the spectacular light show that celebrates Halloween in all its spooky glory.

 

  1. Haunted Duck Boat Tours

The Mobile Duck Boat Tours have become a local favorite year-round, but this autumn they’re bringing back the limited-time tour that took the Port City by storm last year. The haunted tours will begin September 29 and run through October 31. Tickets are $29 for adults and $16 for kids (2 and under are free). Leaving from the Fort of Colonial Mobile (Fort Condé) this tour shows you Mobile and Mobile River under nightfall, sharing the ghost stories of one of the most haunted cities in the South. Hear about those who made Mobile home in both life and the afterlife as your tour searches for their spirit.

 

  1. Dauphin Way United Methodist Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival

From October 13-31, visit the family friendly patch on Dauphin St. across from DUMC. The patch is free to visit; pumpkins are for sale starting at just $1 and hayrides take a loop for $1 as well. Bring a picnic and enjoy the cooler weather amongst the pumpkins. It’s open from 9am – 6pm every Monday through Saturday and from Noon-6pm on Sundays. On October 22, plan an outing to the fall festival on the grounds. There will be games, a petting zoo, face painting, door prizes, free popcorn and cotton candy. All proceeds benefit local missions and church outreach programs.

 

  1. Boo at Bellingrath

On October 28, visit the legendary Bellingrath Gardens from 11am – 3pm for a daytime Halloween extravaganza. The gardens will be decorated with spooky and fun inflatables to transform the entire park. As you explore the grounds, enjoy treats and trinkets from area organizations and businesses. Bring the kids in their costumes and they can trick-or-treat at the booths while parents enjoy the food trucks and live music. Tickets are $13 for adults and $7.50 for kids 5-12 (4 and under are free).
